I’m borrowing a little Frank Sinatra inspiration today… start spreading the news!
I think that everyone can agree that there has been a great many changes in Scouting over the past 10 years or so Worldwide. Scouts Australia, Scouts UK, Scouting Ireland and Scouts Canada have been or are now going through a revitalization process looking to be more relevant to today’s youth, to improve membership, and to showcase the value of Scouting in general. While it may not always have been smooth sailing, one can not argue that overall growth is happening.
Given that Scouts Canada (my Scouting home) is still in the beginning phases of their revitalization, I thought that I would share a few things that I’ve found on the web that showcase the value of this journey and the potential for growth it holds. Over the next couple of posts I’m going to use the power of YouTube to highlight the successes of Scouts UK. With approx 500,000 members and a national waiting list of 37,000 youth we might be able to learn a thing or two.
First off is a brief history lesson of the last 10 years to show what is possible.
So stay tuned, be thoughtful, and above all keep Scouting!
